Bora Bora
 
The island of Bora Bora with a remarkable beauty, clear turquoise waters and secluded luxury it’s undoubtedly the most famous and breathtaking island in the world.   • Bora Bora Lagoonarium – An outdoor fish park that presents the marine life of Bora Bora. The cool thing is that you can get into this giant aquarium and swim with the rays, sharks, turtles and other creatures. It’s a unique experience that no one should miss.
  • Submarine dive – Take a 30 minutes submarine dive, explore the underwater life and admire the colorful coral reefs. Tourists can see jack fishes, snappers, stingrays, lemon sharks, damselfish and you are lucky a moray eel or a turtle.
  • Aquabike – Submerge yourself with this personal submarine scooter into the clear waters of this lagoon. There are allowed only 2 people and the immersion is made from a hydraulic platform. Also, an experience diver will accompany you during the dive.
  • Aqua safari – Take your air-supplied helmet and go for a walk underwater. Enjoy the time spent here by admiring all the tropical fish. Pregnant women and those who have asthma shouldn’t go underwater.
  • Glass bottom boat tour – If you don’t like to get wet, this tour will allow you to explore the underwater life on board of a covered boat. Learn the legend and the history of Bora Bora while gliding over the coral reefs or counting the numerous tropical fish through the glass floor of the boat.
  • Kitesurfing – Never done that? Doing kite surf in Bora Bora is an experience that you will never forget. Beginners will have the opportunity to learn all the techniques of this sport before trying it out.
  • Lagoon fishing – Take a tour for a half-day and enjoy fishing in the calm lagoon. Catch a wide range of fishes from rainbow runner, small barracuda, jacks, needle fish, snappers or blue fin trevally. Upon request, the captain can take you closer to the barrier reef.
  • Parasailing – Parasail over the crystal clear waters near Matira Beach from your very own colorful parachute. The view toward Mount Otemanu and the surrounding islands of Raiatea, Maupiti or Taha’a is breathtaking. Watch out for the sharks, stingrays or the turtles below you.
  • Helicopter ride – The best views over Bora Bora are on board of a helicopter. Fly over the dazzling lagoon or watch Mount Otemanu, all in 15 or 30 minutes of flight.
  • Romantic lagoon escapade and barbeque – Circle the island, enjoy the stingrays or snorkel near the coral gardens. After the tour, the boat will make a stop at a secluded motu so you can enjoy a private romantic lunch, a barbeque picnic accompanied by a complimentary bottle of champagne.
  • Sunset cruise – What a perfect way to end the day if not on a romantic cruise at sunset. Sail along the lagoon and serve a Maitai just before the sunset.

Not only are the services expensive in Bora Bora, but the food and drinks as well. The most famous restaurant is Bloody Mary and is located at the southern tip of Pofai Bay. There is also a board with famous names like Pierce Brosnan, Janet Jackson or Pamela Anderson that have eaten here. For something less expensive, Bounty Snack has reasonable prices.

For those in the budget, the perfect accommodation is Sunset Hill Lodge with a zen garden and a small waterfall. Prices begin at €50 up to €100. If you decided to spend a vacation here, be aware that you might need a visa. For those coming from US, Canada, Japan or New Zeeland, you won’t need a visa for up to one month. Vacations up to three months are permitted for those traveling from Andorra, Australia, Britain, France, Iceland, Monaco, Norway, Vatican, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
